The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers is an organization that provides leadership, advocacy, training, and member support services to ensure equal access and high-quality addiction treatment.
This national organization provides addiction treatment centers with a voice on many issues, including quality, advocacy, public policy, equity, diversity and inclusion.
NAATP has been the addiction service profession’s vision, voice, and thought leader since 1978. This National Association is a nonprofit professional society that represents hundreds of not-for-profit and for-profit addiction treatment providers.
Turning Point of Tampa joined the addiction treatment providers preferred membership organization several years ago as a way of ensuring our industry’s future and compliance with the ethical standards set forth by NAATP.
Our CEO Robin Piper is a member of the board of directors and serves as the public policy chairperson.
As a national association, industry leaders and members work together to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.
The value to members is derived through:
Addiction is a chronic brain disease that affects every element of life: mind, body, and spirit. Drug addiction spares no demographic, no segment of society; it disregards racial, political, religious, economic, gender, social, and geographic distinctions.
Substance abuse harms individuals and destroys families, friendships, and employment relationships. Substance use disorders are complex issues, that are best addressed in the highest quality treatment centers.
The treatment services at Turning Point of Tampa address these complex issues by offering the highest quality of care. Turning Point of Tampa strives to equip all of our patients and their families with the tools for success while receiving services at our 52 bed facility in Tampa Florida.
NAATP treatment providers get access to a yearly conference to bring together thought leaders who are instrumental in developing the ethical standards and conduct of care for alcohol and drug treatment providers. NAATP leadership provides advocacy for treatment providers with industry leaders in Washington, DC.
The CEO has testified before congress about professionalism violations and ethical problems the treatment industry continually faces.
Complex issues such as insurance utilization, parity enforcement, emerging treatment options, ethics and professionalism violations within the addiction treatment industry are important for all NAATP members.
The incredible leadership and guidance to all member organizations, as well as training and guidance for issues such as equity, diversity, inclusion and practice standards is reflected in the services offered.
The advocacy committees are run by NAATP members and ensure that leadership voices are heard on Capitol Hill at both a national and state level.
According to the NAATP website to join NAATP, there have been new member categories added for NAATP membership: supporter and affiliate.
NAATP Supporter Members are entities or individuals that/who provide a non-clinical service to individuals who are in or are seeking recovery. Services provided support or contribute to recovery from substance use disorders. Recovery support services may include, but are not necessarily limited to recovery coaching, peer support, recovery residences or sober living. Supporter members offer services not currently licensable, but they should seek certification where available.
NAATP Affiliate Members are entities or individuals that/who provide a service, software or goods that supports or contributes to the work of NAATP and its members, contributes to the goals of addiction service and treatment provision, or promotes law and policy that benefit the treatment service industry.
