For Immediate Release
Tampa, Florida, October 15, 2018 – Turning Point of Tampa, a nationally recognized leader in addiction treatment, has joined the National Association of Treatment Providers, also known as NAATP.
Formed in 1978 by industry leaders and organizations at the forefront of addiction service, NAATP serves as the vision and voice for the industry. NAATP is a nonprofit professional society of top treatment providers throughout the continuum of care and provides to its members clinical and operational resources as well as law and policy advocacy.
Recent reports indicate 23 million Americans need treatment for a Substance Use Disorder, while only 10% of those actually receive help in a specialized facility. Addiction in the United States is a serious national health crisis and at a time when so many of our nation’s citizens need help, the addiction treatment industry also faces complex issues, such as insurance utilization and ethics and professionalism violations. NAATP serves to provide leadership, advocacy and training to ensure the availability and highest quality of addiction treatment. NAATP’s leadership recently testified before Congress, namely the House Energy and Commerce Committee, to address the business practices of some addiction treatment providers.
Founded in 1987, Turning Point of Tampa provides treatment options for adults with Substance Use Disorder and Eating Disorders, as well as Co-Occurring Disorders. Licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and Accredited by the Joint Commission, Turning Point of Tampa is focused on 12-Step oriented quality client care on one campus. Lead by CEO/Clinical Director, Robin Piper, LMHC, MCAP, NCC, CCTP, we understand that it is a privilege to help people redefine themselves through the gift of recovery and we encourage Recovery through Responsibility.
