Opioid Epidemic Impacting Children

Turning Point of Tampa’s CEO Robin Piper was recently featured on ABC Action News discussing the opioid epidemic, and has more to say on the topic:

I’d like to offer parents encouragement to seek help for themselves so that they can better parent their children. Changing your life will help ensure that your children will not follow the same destructive path. It takes courage and support to combat an opioid addiction.  I urge you to make a call to obtain information and the help that will turn your life around.

To stop abusing opioids, you are going to need support and clinical intervention, so reach out to healthcare professionals, community programs, places of worship, 211, recovery rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon and Nar-Anon.  Take advantage of the guidance they offer.  You are worthy of recovery from an addiction, so take the action that will change your life and the lives of your family.

If you or a family member are struggling with addiction and need treatment, call Turning Point of Tampa’s Admissions Department at 800-397-3006.
