  Treatment Program

In 1989, Turning Point of Tampa developed what is now a nationally recognized Eating Disorder Program for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Food Addiction/Binge Eating Disorder.

Our approach is based on a gentle, caring and effective 12-step program designed to explore personal issues in a supportive and encouraging environment. Our trained therapists and nutritionists facilitate group treatments to address body image, nutrition and menu planning for male and female clients dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.

Our clients then meet one on one with a personal therapist to develop an individualized plan of treatment and for ongoing individual therapy. Each client also meets weekly with a nutritionist to develop and monitor an individually tailored food plan.

Eating disorders are progressive, addictive, dangerous and potentially fatal. Turning Point of Tampa encourages the development of healthy eating, balanced exercise, positive body image and clear and assertive communication skills.
 

  Dual Diagnosis Treatment

For many of our patients a dependency on drugs, alcohol or an eating disorder is deeply intertwined with a co-occuing diagnosis, which is why we have developed a unique treatment program to address these circumstances. Still focused on the 12 step model, the therapy sessions and independent counseling focus on the underlying issues, providing understanding and a return to a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
