Turning Point's Intensive Outpatient program
is a structured eight week program that allows adults
with chemical dependencies and/or eating disorders to
maintain their current employment and residence while
in treatment. The Intensive Outpatient program includes both group
and individual counseling that allows personal exploration
of feelings, beliefs, and behaviors.
Turning Point's evening Intensive Outpatient Program is for clients
with alcohol/drug dependency or those clients suffering
from eating disorders. The program is designed to support
clients who are employed or wish to live at their current
residence. Clients participate in group and family therapy
three nights per week and attend community (AA, NA,
OA) 12-Step meetings in addition to the therapy groups.
Our clinical staff are dedicated experienced professionals
who provide supportive, structured therapy. The groups
are led by a Master's level, licensed mental health
counselor, who is also a certified addictions professional.
Our Medical Director is a board certified psychiatrist
who reviews cases and performs psychiatric evaluations
as needed.
An assessment and evaluation will determine primary
problems or the need for detoxification prior to treatment
at Turning Point. A history and physical may be necessary
to determine medical stability. Also, urine screenings
are required for clients upon admission, in addition
to random screenings throughout the program.
Program Focus:
Recognition and acceptance of the disease process and
the need for change;
Identification of the tools necessary to maintain a
healthy, recovery-based lifestyle;
Motivation to utilize those tools on a daily basis to
maintain recovery.
